COMPOST HEAP
Organic recycling by composting is a very effective way of converting organic waste into a usefull resource.
All is explained in the composting pages. My comment here, make your compost suitable to the soil you will be using the compost on; if you have sandy soil, your compost will need more roughage to make the compost course. If the soil is clay, you will need less roughage or let the composting go longer.
Do-not use compost as a fertiliser, rather use the compost to enhance the environment around the plants and enhance the purpose of fertilliser to feed the plant by feeding the soil around the plant and by doing this, you are also enhancing the environment around you.
START AN ORGANIC COMPOST HEAP
Anyone who wants to do their part to look after the earth should have a compost source. Depending how you do it, it can take between 3 months and a year for the material in a compost heap to break down so the sooner you start one the sooner you will be able to add home made compost to your garden.
Composting is extremely easy. It is a very natural process so, even if all you do is pile your organic waste up in a heap or make a compost box and leave it alone, the composting process will happen! See the (Composting tips) for more about creating your own compost.
